Buy truffle bars is one of a polyphyletic bunch of fungi that contain various psychedelic compounds, including psilocybin, psilocin, and biocytin. Standard, colloquial terms for psilocybin mushrooms include psychedelic mushrooms, magic mushrooms, shrooms, and mush.

A typical psychedelic dose of psilocybin, found in “magic mushrooms” and “magic truffles,” for someone of moderate body weight is about 3.5 grams when the mushroom or truffle is dry; a microdose is about 1/10 of a hallucinogenic dose. 

So, my first experience with psilocybin bars was life-changing in the most conscious and transcendent way. Unfortunately, my high school thrill-seeking friends and I knew nothing about dosing psychedelics and gobbled up magic mushrooms as we lived at an all-you-can-eat salad bar.
